I didn't go to Japan and I am not interested in the key. But I have to say people need to go back to the original post and read more carefully. Blau-Blau was the one who posted the picture of the key. He bought it on a previous trip to Japan. It also does not work since it doesn't have the chip inside. If you take a step back you can look at your key and see that you could probably carefully split it open to get the chip out (won't be easy since it is sealed well to prevent any water from entering). But how many of you are willing to try it? Blau on the key you have does the metal piece open? If not then the experiment is useless unless you folks intend on carrying the chip seperately. Which brings up another issue, does the signal get transmitted through a current that runs through the key or just one that is sent out by the chip? One other option of course would be the mugen ecu which would bypass the immobilizer. But, $1500 to use a new key fob seems a little drastic. By the way he paid around $52USD for one key. Blau it would be interesting to know when you actually purchased this key and if it is even available today. My hunch is that it was made by someone who didn't realize that the immobilizer chip was needed.

Thanks for posting that, Dan. I was about to post the exact same thing!

Blau blau posted this about the key, not any of us who went to Tokyo this past week. And you are correct about the chip. I have the Mugen ECU, but that's the only way around not having the chip in the key if you still want the immobilizer to work. And there may be other issues that are being overlooked as well. I'm not sure...

I would suggest getting ahold of Blau blau and making contact with Super Autobacs to get the key(s) sent over through a GB.

Good luck!
