Default Automatic convertible top using key fob

I think it would be great if someone could make a mod to the S2000 top where you could press a button on the key fob and have your convertible top unlock and go down. Since I like to close up my car when I go to the store, it would be nice to hop into the car with the top already down and ready to go!

With lock and unlock?

Unless your a god in machining and can find some very small yet high powered solenoids... nope!

I'd be happy if the roof switch in the cabin had the same "auto down" feature as the windows. One touch, and it goes down. I'm lazy, and I hate having to keep my finger on the button for the 8 seconds.

It only needs to unlock since that would definately be the easier thing. Also, using a key fob to put top up doesn't really have many benefits.

I don't think it's really possible with the way the strikers are setup.

closest you'll get is the top down rolling mod.

Of course it's possible to use the existing strikers, unless you're trying to mimic the existing hardware. You need to take a step back from the existing design and think of a new latching mechanism, maybe something like a slowly rotating latch that engages, or a spring loaded latch, etc. I'm sure there are some imaginative engineers out there.

Even a remote that only puts the top up/down and requires you to manually lock/unlock the latch could be useful because when you go to the store, you only need to put the top up, not necessarily lock it each time wearing the latch out.

If you don't lock it and the wind blow, the OEM alarm usually goes off. Any vibration in the cabin will set it off. I was taking leaves off my top one morning before I got in the car and the alarm went crazy.
