autometer vs. sos a-pillar pods
I'll be installing a few gauges in, however, I need an a-pillar pod. Seems like SOS is the most popular, however, a few have the Autometer. Both install over the a-pillar, correct? Both appear to match the interior well enough. So, are there any real differences?
I've only found one or two posts regarding the Autometer pod, so not much information there. Any input?
Thanks!

The SOS unit doesn't go over the A-pillar. It replaces it. You remove the stock A-pillar cover and replace it with the SOS unit.
I don't know anything about the Autometer one you're talking about. Are you sure that it was made exclusively for the S2000?

I have the Autometer A pillar dual pod mounts along with Autometer gauges. The fit and finish matched my black interior. The pods goes over the stock A pillar and held in with barbed plastic body panel plugs. I'm happy with it.
You cannot fit the SOS unit over the stock unit. It just won't fit. You need to take the stock A-pillar cover off before inserting the SOS unit. The stock cover snaps into place, whereas the SOS unit has to be somehow fastened at the top. SOS suggests that you screw it into place. Unfortunately, you will have an exposed screw, or a cap that covers the screw.
The picture above is exactly what the stock and SOS units look like. The SOS unit doesn't have a side vent, but you don't really need that anyway.
It would be nice if someone posted pictures of the Autometer setup.
