Default Baby seat in ap1?

Has anyone here found a safe and legal way to put a baby seat for a 16 month+ baby in an AP1??? I know the ap2 comes with a weight sensor in the pass. seat to turn the air bag off when the seat is empty of the passenger is under the specified weight. I checked the ministry and appearantly you can put a baby seat in the passenger seat of a two seater car as long as there are no air bags or they have a switch to be turned off. For vehicles that don't come factory with the switch you have to get a permit from the ministry to get a air bag switch installed. Now i just need to if anyone has done it or has the know how to convert the ap1 to the ap2 system with the weight sensitive air bag. I would really love to be able to pick my daughter up from the baby sitter on the way home in the S instead of having to go home to pick up the sedan first and to be able to take my daughter out with me in the S. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. please pm my with any info.

Baby belongs in the back seat. Go home and get the sedan.

Like in your sig, some people believe the S2K or any rear wheel drive car has no business being in the snow, but you drive just fine with the right tires on right? So why can't he put his baby seat in the front, with the right mods and requirements? it's not against the law. It may not be the safest place, but it can be done.

We can argue all day whether this is safe or not, or right or not. That isn't the point of this thread, he didn't come here to be judged on his parenting methods.

I don't know where you could possibly put the seat anchor, and the car seat will make some lasting marks on your s2k seats.
Back seat is the best place. We all know how many bad drivers there are. Grab the sedan, and feel good about your decision.

I put one in my AP2. My friend, the police chief, says it's just fine, not illegal.
My 3 year old grandson loves the S2k, and says , "let's roll."

In NY state, it is in fact illegal. Can't speak for other states however.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the airbags....can you disable the passenger airbag in ap1? My car doesn't have a switch for that...

best thing would be what you had stated already. "For vehicles that don't come factory with the switch you have to get a permit from the ministry to get a air bag switch installed."

Took my daughter in my s2k a few times when I absolutely had to, but it wasn't often. We have this car seat (britax boulevard) and it seemed to fit well. My airbag was disabled but people always gave me dirty looks
