Bad Accident - NEED ADVICE ASAP
Well I don't know if youy were joking about the conditon of your tires in this thread, Road rage but it kind of sounds like you were.
Tire condition is so important for this car. I can't give you any advice on the insurance and ticket questions, but this story serves as a "Public Service Announcment" as we head into winter. Please everyone, be aware of the limits of the tires, the conditions and yourself.

Geez that sucks, why are you going to have to miss work for a few weeks? If you're hurt then that's what disability insurance or workers comp is for plus you should have at least a week or so of sick leave per year. If you're out of transportation because of the S insurance should give you a rental car for at least a week or two until they cut you a check.
As far as fighting the ticket I don't know what you can do, it's pretty much your word against his. If it's just a basic moving offense i'd take defensive driving or deffered and just get it off your record.

Love it when people talk about things they have absolutely NO clue about.
Look at the photo. If a car slams into soft dirt with both side wheels, it will vault itself, and flip. Simple physics. Now, if you ever drove an s2000, youll know that with anything other than brand new tires, in the rain, the car is a deathtrap. Ive slid through a corner at 10mph with 1" of water. I slid through a flurry shower <.5" at 3mph.
Things arent as cut and dry as you all make it out to be.

this thread is really pathetic.
You know what I learned from it... that S2KI is just as bad as Honda Tech.

Lots of luck whatever you do man. May you receive whatever it is you need.
When dealing with insurance, keep very detailed records - call times, names, documents mailed to and by you - you never know if you will eventually have to go to court to get money you deserve. The more factual evidence you can present showing any improprieties by the insurance company, the stronger your case will be.
It seems like standard practice for an insurance company to low ball on the initial offer, but if you are dealing with your own company and they value you at all, maybe they will make you a fair initial offer. Make sure you know what stock fair market is and expect to get no more than that. Don't be afraid to tell them the initial offer is unreasonable and have the rep "confer" with his sup and come back with a better offer.
As for the ticket, if you have a clean record, tell it to the judge yourself, and try and get it thrown out. Tell the judge you have a clean record because you are a safe driver, and this was truly an unfortunate accident and you want to keep you record clean, and maybe the judge will toss the ticket. Since you're already filing with insurance for the car and property damage, the ticket doesn't really matter for you and your rates.
If you were accelerating on an on ramp and hit a wet patch, you'd spin in a heartbeat. Narrow road, no chance to correct, elevation drop off - all a bad mix for you. I've hydroplaned in sports cars on several occasions, its just something that comes with driving a light car.

Werd.
I have to drive home through a residential 25mph area with numerous 90 degree turns. Since the speed limit is 25 MPH i simply don't slow down for the corners.
Sometimes, my foot slip accidentally on the accelerator mid corner and the rear end swings out, and most of the time I downshift to 1st gear which makes the car a little louder.
So with the combination of screeching tires and higher rpm's than the general public is used to tends to make some people tell me to slow down.
So whip up the handbrake, and 180 it right back to them and politely tell them that I was going the speed limit and my tires are bald and I have a foot injury and I'm too poor to buy new tires.
they always understand.

Ive been in a couple accidents... Ive been extremely lucky that its never been in the S, or my fault.
My last accident was 5 years ago, I was rear ended.
My dad is also an insurance adjuster, so I had some consuling.
They sent an appraser out to check the value of my car.... I talked to him and told him id like to fix the car myself... so he didnt total it. If you wana get another car, make sure they total it... I used to work in a body shop, and if a customer wanted a car to be totaled, the owner made sure I took care of it- sometimes with a hammer... (I was in highschool and did what I was told)
Good luck... and get a new S ASAP

You can blame it on the road, if there is something unusual about road conditions... oil would cause that accident.
So you should have taken 50 pictures of the road, in hopes of getting one that made it look like there was oil on the road. ...

Many here are really pissed hearing about wrecked S2000's. Mostly because quite a few of us (myself included) are having our insurance rates jacked up because of it.
My case:
2003 $870/yr
2004 $1271/yr
2005 $1498/yr
All this with no claims, tickets, accidents... nothing. My rates are up for review in soon too.
I hope you get your car fixed/replaced. That's what insurance is for. And an earlier poster was right: this car is perfectly capable of being a deathtrap in the rain.
