Default Bad day...radiator and headlights suck.

mkay...so my radiator is leaking. Honda said don't drive it, I don't have that luxury to just not drive. What are some immediate options when it comes to fixing or replacing the radiator?

mkay...so my headlights went out. Honda is telling me I need both headlamp igniter assembly's. Would it be better for me to buy two of those ($350 each) or just buy the whole new headlamps? I have a 2000 s2000, can you fit the newer headlamps in the older s2000's?

Unlikely both headlights would fail simultaneously - look for some one thing that affects both headlights.

As long as you keep adding enough coolant to keep the overflow tank level above min, of course you can drive the car. Yes, it'll leak onto the floor or street until you get it fixed, but you're going to do that soon, right? (I'm assuming your temperature gauge is reading normal.)

Ya, the temp guage is staying normal. One headlight went out, then two months later the other headlight went out. The honda guy said that air got in the radiator and i'm running a risk of blowing a head gasket.

It doesn't take long to damage an engine from running it hot. Drive it at your own risk.

It would have been more helpful if you had mentioned this in your first message.

Air in the radiator is not a radiator problem; it's a cooling system filling problem. And you do need to get the cooling system full, or overheating will damage your engine. Check the last part of xviper's post on radiator flushing.

Maybe I should have said all the details in the first post. The radiator is leaking fluid. It's all over my engine bay and is also running down the bottom lip of the front bumper. However, I just got it home from the Honda dealership and I haven't seen any fluid on the ground or any fresh, wet fluid in the bay. It's all just dried up and white now. I'm taking it to a radiator shop tomorrow to see what they have to say.

um maybe you don't see any fluid because there might not be any in the radiator? so just check to be sure as some dealership are just plain incompetent....

There is fluid in the radiator, and it's not dripping anywhere. However, the little foam (i know it's not foam, but the absorbant thing in front of the radiator when you're looking down at it) thing is soaked with fluid. I'm in the process of removing the radiator so I can take it to a shop to be fixed.

What about the headlights? Will 04-05's fit directly in a 00's location?

MacGyver put eggs in a radiator once...the heat boiled the eggs and they clogged the holes.

I'm not talking about the Macgyver on this board, but Richard Dean Anderson.
