Default A beautiful summer evening in Newport Beach, CA

Last night my fiancee and I had a 7pm appointment with a potential photographer for our wedding next June. The appointment lasted more than 2 1/2 hours

By the time we got out, the sun was down and a nice ocean breeze was up. Traffic was pretty light on PCH so we decided to take the long way home.

Top down, stereo off to enjoy the sounds of the car we shared an amazing drive home. Just holding hands at stop lights and talking over our thoughts on the meeting. The exhaust burbled away nicely when traffic slowed and I even had a few opportunities to let the "little engine that could" do her thing and rip a hole into the night with her melodic shriek.

We got home way late and were bummed about having to get up so early this morning, but man was it woth it.

I pulled into the garage and shut the car off listening for a second to the ticks, pops, you know those crazy little noises that these things make when they've had a spirited run.

My fiancee and I had a great kiss (sorry you horn dogs, that's all you're getting out of me), closed the garage and went into the house.

This morning on the way into work, we talked about how happy we were that we "made the bad financial decision" and got rid of our Miata to buy the S2000. This little car has really provided some wonderful memories for us and we've only had it 4 months!!!

Sorry if this got a little mushy, but I wanted to share with you guys a great night with this awesome little car that the boys in Tochigi had the balls to build for us.

Happy motoring!!!!!

Oh gosh... that was so beautiful. I think I'm gonna cry...

There's nothing like a clear blue sky, an ocean breeze, a hot babe, and the roar of the S just before sundown in SoCal!!!

I just don't care what the cost-of-living is!!! It doesn't matter!!!

Great story Da Hapa. You're a lucky guy to be able to find a girl that doesn't care about getting her hair messed up in the convertible.

See you at the meet in Irvine.

I've had a few memorable "topless" night time drives in my stook as well here in beautiful southern California. From just sitting in the car talking, to a nice drive up PCH with relaxing music playing while holding hands, to day to day drives with an occasional kiss at a stoplight. Every once in a while I catch myself totally relaxed behind the wheel and realize just how lucky I am to own this car.

I hope one day I find someone to share moments like yours all the time. You're a lucky man. I'm sure having fun trying to find "the one", though.

I hear that. My girlfriend and I realized what a bad financial decision we made to get me this car, but every time we look back, it is still worth it!!!!!

Thinking about my financial woes makes me do this
The S2K makes me do this

Da Hapa, that was a cool story. I think that it would be nice to post a thread about all the things that you may have missed out on if you didn't buy and S2000. This sounds like one of them...! It's so sweet and syrupy that I need a tissue!

And BTW, is your soon to be wife a member of VOTA Racing?

It was a beautiful night here in northern California as well. I spent a few hours washing and waxing my baby... I swear that the car feels much faster after a good cleaning.

I work for a software consulting company, and like most professional services firms here in the bay area, we have been hit pretty hard by this economic downturn.. but all that just melts away when i am behind the wheel of my stook.

Driving leasurely down the great highway along ocean beach at sunset is sheer bliss... then tearing up hyde street to lombard in first gear (a pretty steep hill) scaring all the tourists always brings a smile to my face... then to finish it off.. I go through the broadway tunnel at 9k rpm to fully appeciate the sound of this great engine...

life is good..
