Becoming one with the s2000
I come from another automotive realm. I drove a ls1 powered firebird daily since i was 19. I learned to drive with twice the torque at 1/3 of the rpms. Frequent trips to the drag strip and late night empty bridge exploits had me white knuckle gripping the steering wheel with one hand while i slammed gears as fast as humanly possible with the other. Yah she was formidable in a straight line, but i never shyed away from the turns either (once i replaced the horrible rubber brake lines that is). Becuase of its muffled feedback i would most times have to wait untill i was deep into over or understeer to make corrections or guess at what was needed. I was by no means a bad driver, these technics worked well with that chassis.
Transistioning to the s2000 took time and some discipline. I knew this would be the case and i looked forward to it. The biggest thing i had to do was force myself to relax. I wasnt pushing around 3500 pounds and controlling 380ftps of torque anymore. Becuase the s senses the slightest driver inputs i had to be alot more smooth and "loosen up my grip" in the steering. Since i started concentrating on this it has been an absolute joy. Its made me a better driver overall and given me a more complete understanding of what an autoenthusiast is all about. I will continue to learn and cant wait to get this car to a track/autocross.
Im learning to relax a lot more in traffic as well... the tops dropped and im smilling while the world scowls around me. I feel sorry for them, heh. Im a little roadster ideling amongst ridiculously huge gus guzzling boxes of boredom. Im happy.
Have fun guys n gals.

Coming back from a pizza run last Thursday evening with the top down on the freeway it was so nice just hanging back a few hundred feet from a big semi doing the speed-limit and enjoying the ride. The curvy roads are great and lots of fun but even on the slab the ride is enjoyable.
