No, you are missing some important concepts.
First, you WANT to have some wheelspin. Haven't you ever noticed how every at the track spins the tires off the launch? There's a reason. you get off the line and into your power band quicker.
You should spin the tires for the first few seconds. again, please see my thread in my sig in regards to proper launching.

4.57 final drive gears in the differential $590 from ricks2k.com plus install + yellow box speedo calibrater. They don't add power, they just deliver the existing power differently. This is the best performance mod for the money bar none.

you want the tires to slip because if they don't the bearing caps in the diff take all the stress. I can get them to break traction at 5K with a clutch dump.
I don't know if the clutch dump is the best way, though, and I won't say it is (as I believe you should get the RIGHT info), but I would imagine that feathering the clutch still gives the diffs the "sudden shock" that bends the caps, not to mention shredding your clutch.

, say good bye clutch if you feather it above 6k rpms while launching..D.

yeah i see..i'll take your advice..but yo what's the 4.57 gear thing though?? and that video whatever proper launch is outside the car and it didn't even peal i notice the red one was pulling on the other one that's all haha
the other link leads to a thread that has 2 videos in it.
Only time I ran at track was 75 Degree humid night. I was bone stock and made six total runs between 13.91 and 14.1. My best launch I hit the gate between 2nd and 3rd and still ran a 14.01 (prolly woulda cracked 13.8 if I had a perfect run). My speeds were around 99 -102.
You have to spin the tires. If you feather the clutch you heat up the pressure plate, flywheel, and disc enough so that you won't be transferring all the power to the wheels you will have a gradual and hardly noticeable loss of time but believe me its there. You will lose some in clutch slip at least during gear changes and at worst anytime you apply more torque to the trans. By spinning the tires you get the car into the powerband earlier (very important in a car as "peaky" as our S2000) and you won't bog. Bogging puts undue stress on the driveline and leaves you with a terrible 60' time because you have to wait for the motor to recover, and small displacement motors don't recover quickly.
