The new M5 is so sweet. V10 500HP and all. Its going to be expensive. The only thing is that its not a sports car. Does not feel like a sports car. Its just a really really fast sedan (which is cool too).

honestly. aside from all this crap. just add 100 shot, have a reputable shop help ya, so they can help setup some sort of timing control. drop couple degrees out, run some 100 octane. and use a wet setup. your gonna need a clutch for this also. then M3s, will be a joke. funny you ask this, cause as i type this, i have a race setup with a buds M3. and my 04 is stage 2 clutch and AEM v2. ive raced two of my friends sti's and did very well, and they were amazed. one ran dead even with this M3, the other wooped it. well, i ran dead even with both sti,s. so circumstance says driver is gonna be key here. anyways, next year im doin 100 shot, and ill prob use crappy e manage to drop out 2- 4 degrees. ive been doing juice a long time, and its gonna get you the best bang for the buck on a torqueless car. thats nitrous's special place, making torque. anyways, good luck, and never back down to an m3.

Not quite the extreme that pantyraider suggested, but here's a start:

Remove spare tyre,
Remove any aftermarket bodykit,
Change stock exahust for single lightweight exhaust
Whilst the stock wheels aren't really heavy, you may find lighter ones.
Remove all roof motors and soft-top roof, replace with hardtop.

Add your choice of engine mods. Get all mods properly dyno tuned with engine managment system.

Whilst you may think some of the above are overkill, at least removing the spare wheel is a start. It probably won't make too much of a difference though
