I used the black hole patch kit to reinforce/protect my top in the normal wear spots. I do not have any holes in the top, I just put these in place to prevent holes from forming. I was skeptical as to how well they would stick with the top going up/down, but they have held in place perfectly for over half a year now

I actually just got mine a couple days ago and am probably gonna throw it on today. Did you file down the sharp part of the bar? I have a rip already and wasn't sure if I should put anything on the outside of the top.

I am currently using goop and marine vinyl, but haven't filed the top. It holds most of the time, but the vinyl is too thick and comes off sometimes. I'm gonna take everything off and clean it before applying the new patch.

Okay, so I deburred the bar and applied the patch, after painstakingly removing as much of the Goop as I could, and also removing my previous patch. I used the 4 x 7 black hole patch and cut it down a bit and rounded it off and applied lots of pressure all over it to make sure it made contact as much as possible.

The moment of truth arrived and I lowered the top and went for a drive... Got back, held
my breath in dramatic fashion haha and raised the top. I'm extremely happy to report that it looked exactly how I applied it and was held together well on the outside of the top too! I know it was only my first time lowering and raising the top, but I have a feeling that it is going to last. Wish I had this from the beginning before my hole kept getting bigger with my previous "solution."
