Best Year S2K - Everything Considered
Ive seen plenty of people swapping out the ap2 rear bumper for AP1 as well as the AP1 slave cyl. Looks are all subjective as you know. But I happen to like the ap1 headlights/ taillights and bumpers better. Only things ap2 on my car are the valve spring retainers and I wouldn't have it any other way
After owning an '08 AP2 and an '01 AP1, I found that all the little things about the AP2 made a huge difference and an overall better package.
I did miss the howl of the 9,000 RPM redline, but that was all the AP1 had for me. The trade off was the deeper growl and torque of the F22. Yes, the torque is definitely noticeable if you drive the car on normal streets.
If I had to do it all over again, the CR would be my choice.

I have an 00-01 because its chassis that comes equipped with the most aggressive and fun/raw performing handling equipment out of the whole era. I further improved on that by incorporating a full 04-05 ap2 drive train from engine, trans, to rear end. Then I modified the entire car from there to make it go much faster in the turns and straits. Its taken almost 9 years and I'm sure I'll still find things to improve on in the future, but its pretty much there at this point. Its the most attractive and fun performance car I could and likely will ever own
I have an 03 because:
No CDV
Quicker ratio rack
4 hole oil squirters
I really like the CR, but I'm not giving up the convertible. I really didn't want the slower steering/clutch response of the AP2 cars. I like mine "raw" feeling (at least in a sports car).
