Do 06s and later have the 2nd gear pop out issue, like the 04-05s do? I am looking at a low mileage extremely clean carefully driven 05, but am concerned that it will develop the issue and need a transmission replacement, out of warranty.....

There is a TSB out for the 04 05s, but I'm wondering if it happens to all 05s, and if the 06s and later do not experience it at all.

[quote name='Syn' timestamp='1359753823' post='22308695']And while I feel like I'm beating a dead horse every time I mention this, the F22 piston speed at 8500rpm is the same as the F20 at 9000.
F22 peak piston speed at 8200 is the same as F20 piston speed at 9000.
F22 peak piston acceleration at 8500 is the same as F20 at 9000.
Can you elaborate on the difference between your statements? This is the first I've heard something like this. When I was researching how high to increase redline with my custom tune I bumped it to 8500 based on my original assumption. Either way I can't really complain as the car's been great for over a year and a half @ 8500 redline.

2.2 liter has 10% more stroke, same bore.
Piston speed varies linearly with both stroke and rpm, so that's a pretty simple one, you just reduce rpm by the same amount as you increased stroke to get the same peak piston speed.
rpm for same peak piston speed in the 2.2 as for the 2.0@9000 ~9000*2.0/2.2 = 8181rpm (actually slightly less than this due to different rod length/stroke)

Peak piston acceleration, on the other hand, varies linearly with stroke, but with the SQUARE of rpm. So you don't have to reduce rpm by as much to have the same peak acceleration. Roughly, rpm for same peak piston acceleration will be based on the square root of the change in stroke.
Same piston acceleration occurs at ~9000*sqrt(2.0/2.2) = 8581rpm (again, less than this due to different rod length/stroke, more like 8500).

25 whp more everywhere? I assume you're comparing a modded f22 to a stock f20? No way there's that much of a difference if you compare apples to apples.

MY06+ will be the fastest for the cheapest amount of investment. Just buy a test pipe and a Hondata Flashpro and get tuned. Enjoy.

If you want one that is crazy to drive buy an AP1.

mega bump. is '06 considered the best ap2 still, or just the best value AP2? Sounds like most people don't mind the DBW they added?
