Best Year S2K - Everything Considered
Do 06s and later have the 2nd gear pop out issue, like the 04-05s do? I am looking at a low mileage extremely clean carefully driven 05, but am concerned that it will develop the issue and need a transmission replacement, out of warranty.....

F22 peak piston acceleration at 8500 is the same as F20 at 9000.

2.2 liter has 10% more stroke, same bore.
Piston speed varies linearly with both stroke and rpm, so that's a pretty simple one, you just reduce rpm by the same amount as you increased stroke to get the same peak piston speed.
rpm for same peak piston speed in the 2.2 as for the 2.0@9000 ~9000*2.0/2.2 = 8181rpm (actually slightly less than this due to different rod length/stroke)
Peak piston acceleration, on the other hand, varies linearly with stroke, but with the SQUARE of rpm. So you don't have to reduce rpm by as much to have the same peak acceleration. Roughly, rpm for same peak piston acceleration will be based on the square root of the change in stroke.
Same piston acceleration occurs at ~9000*sqrt(2.0/2.2) = 8581rpm (again, less than this due to different rod length/stroke, more like 8500).
