Why is no one mentioning the 2001's? Anything wrong with these years? I'm looking at picking up one with only 20k for miles

My question is to everyone going on about the f22. Why is it the rest of the world stuck with the f20?

Does it honestly matter? That question has been answered a trillion times.

The USDM request more torque from the motor and the F22C was produced to provide it.

Considering this a "which is better" thread I would say honestly it does matter. Half the posts in this thread are about either the 9k redline or the 10ftlb more torque. So I would say it probably matters. It's as if Honda thought... We did it right the first time, but if a larger engine is what it will take to appease only Americans we can do that. But oh don't worry the rest of the world isn't bothered. I'm just pointing out that maybe it's not a overall ap1>< ap2. It's more just preference?

F22 is more power, sooner, with some additional torque. The AP2 chassis changes also maximize torque and torque advantage in the drive train (gearing, etc).

JDM got the F22 from 06 to end of production so you're sort of half right I guess.

The motor makes more power and has a broader area under the curve. It's not just an extra 10 ft-lb. And while I feel like I'm beating a dead horse every time I mention this, the F22 piston speed at 8500rpm is the same as the F20 at 9000. With a custom tune you lose only 500rpm on the top end vs. the F20, while gaining significantly more power and torque especially from 4000-6000rpm.

F22 peak piston speed at 8200 is the same as F20 piston speed at 9000.
F22 peak piston acceleration at 8500 is the same as F20 at 9000.

Can you elaborate on the difference between your statements? This is the first I've heard something like this. When I was researching how high to increase redline with my custom tune I bumped it to 8500 based on my original assumption. Either way I can't really complain as the car's been great for over a year and a half @ 8500 redline.
