It is a sad state of this board with all the crap threads that have been posted here lately that when a thread comes along on topic that you don't like you find the need to attack the poster. I urge you to read the initial post and then see if the response it generated by some of you was warranted.

And people wonder why with so many registered users only a small percentage post with any regularity.

If you don't like the topic you could have just ignored it or You could have disagreed with the topic and given any number of valid reasons for doing so but some of you decided to act like a lynch mob and gang up on someone you deem not to have a right to post on certain subjects.

I really can't believe this. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

I think Bieg is getting annoyed/hostile/whatever about category D, perhaps rightly so.

Categories A, B and C feel like debate/discussion; category D, I don't know, maybe we need another debate on that.
I never said that Bieg should not have an opinion and be able to express it. I just wish that he would practice a little patience, humility, and tolerance to the people on this board and on the whole net. Internet font cannot show emotions such as sarcasm and sillyness. I am guilty of not finding the jokes in the posts sometimes. Maybe Bieg wrote something sarcastic to me that I took an offensive position towards and I am sorry for that. I just wish that Bieg was not so fast to jump on people. We all have to practice some type of restraint and I am going to stop posting on this thread. Once agian, I am appologizing to you, Bieg, and I hope you do the noble thing and accept it.

Peace,
Phi

I must say that I have experienced both spectrums: Extreme modification and the journey back to an almost stock vehicle. I purchased the S2000 to take apart, learn about, and have fun working on a variety of projects with. After ~$26,000 in modifications, I returned the car nearly to stock condition to use as a highly dependable, consistent, daily-driver.

Would I do all those changes again? No.

When I get another car in a few years (I will of course keep the S2000 for decades), I will only do a few minor cosmetic changes (for personality/originality) and a stereo upgrade (I can never give THAT up). But as for mechanical modifications: If I want a really fast car, I will buy a really fast car. If I want the best-possible handling car, I will buy a great-handling car. I will use the vehicle as the manufacturer + engineers intended.

Just my opinion on my own experience.

I too flamed Bieg in the beginning.

You are lucky to own an S2000, Bieg. I can only dream of the day the I can rev one to 9k rpm. I will tell you though, if I had one, I would never mod it, except for maybe some of Rick's stuff , and it would be so clean that you could eat off of it (not that I would commit sacrilege.) I understand your point of view. The s2000 is a modern classic.

Its a sad state when you have the need to rehash something OVER and OVER and OVER AGAIN.

I'm done with this "crap" thread of yours... I'll leave you with this...

F*ck you and f*ck your opinions. DO NOT tell me what I can do or not do to my own car.

Now based on what I've just said, can someone lock this thread and move on?

Bieg

Don't take me wrong - I agree with you - that's why I bought my other fun car. The S2000 takes too much $$ to get to where you want it to be and you'll never, ever get those $$ back out of it.

I also agree with you that this board has deteriorated substantially over the last 2 years.

I come here to find ideas that challenge me - that doesn't happen too often.

ughhhhh

Mav, I get what you are trying to do, but that is uncalled for, joking or not..its that next level I was hoping that this thread wouldn't reach..

Somewhere on the many threads such as this, my views are expressed, so I'll spare you all to hear it once again..

But I'll say this instead...look at the views, we all hate hearing this over and over..so we say however perhaps its human nature?? that draws us to this post..its like spending 29 minutes watching a bad infomercial...

But..I guess if you admit that, it kinda spoils the fun

Like we haven't had a million posts to the tune of "What are the first mods I should do" or "I just did such and susch to my S2000 and my seat of the pants dydno says WOW!"
