"Bieg's Law"
Bieg, it is more than obvious that what you say is true. There is no way that you will ever see anywhere close to what you put into the car ever again. How many of those that do mod their car look at it as an investment?
What i would like to ask you, if you dont mind, is what goes through your mind when you see a car on the street that is modified. Regardless of it being done right or wrong, does it really burn you? Do you really get upset at what you see and simply look upon the owner as someone who wastes their money?
The reason i ask this is because i have extensively modified every car i have owned. At 24, i have spent over $35,000 on buying toys for my cars. Everything from performance mods to simple aesthetic pieces. None of which i ever saw anything close to what i paid for it. I knew that going in. Do i regret it? No. Would i do it again. Defintitely. Hopefully someday i ll be able to afford my dream Ferrari and mod that too.
My point of this that i luv doing it. For what ever the reason may be, i luv buying parts and installing them. It is simply my biggest passion. My ex-girlfriend would get so jealous because i would always be droolling over peoples cars.
I dont think anyone on this board disagrees with you. I just feel that the way you communicate your thoughts comes off as an attack to the many that do feel as passionate about their cars and their mods as i do. Yes, you did not come out and point fingers and call names, but your words are words of an elitist. You have every right to express your thoughts, I just dont understand why you enjoy trying to get under so many peoples skin.
My car is not just a piece of metal. It is not just a simple materialistic object that can be replaced with money. I have not only spent my money, but hours and hours of my time working on it.
Im sorry for getting overly dramatic and sentimental over this but i wanted you to understand how into it i really am.
Many people have come on here and said some very harsh things towards you which i dont think is correct and i apologize on their behalf, but again i ask you to think twice when you would like to express a point that you know will cause a stir.

Bieg,
However what the thread may convey to anyone, has been questioned, and debated. Will a un-modified S2000 sell for more than (performance) modified, most likely.
As you state "Biegs Law" It is your thread, and what you believe is right for the S2000.
It seems that the current world seems to being a unique individual with the "RIGHT" to express themselves.
The thread you originall posted is a published fact,
Would you rather an immaculate 2001 with no mods, or a modifed S2000, with more extra modifications than you may deem neccessary. And certain are they are confident of the installation of the modifications.
I do agree with the basis of the thread, and hope others will not see this as a negative comment towards those who wish to personlize their S 2000 's
Modify By Personal Choice, Not By Public Opinion..
Since don't we know our own self best

Bieg,
I know this post isn't on topic about this thread, and it isn't meant as an attack. I've been thinking about why this type of thread, which you repeatedly bring up, is so annoying to many of us. I think I've finally figured it out. Your audience is unknown. What I mean by that is that we haven't seen a huge number (if any) of threads where people said "I modded my car, now I want to sell it, but noone will give me blue book for it". If we had seen a bunch of threads like that it would be valid to be discussing this. While there is some validity to discussing it anyways, absent a bunch of threads indicating modding has been a problem with resale value of the car the only reasoning many of us can come up with for bringing this up repeatedly is that this topic is a sore spot for you, a "crusade". I think the reason you have brought this up repeatedly is not to benefit those owners on the fence about modding but just to further your "crusade". Your reply above to docofmind seems to support this hypothesis. What I think bothers many of us is that we're just tired of reading this repeatedly, just as we get annoyed when a Jehovahs Witness wakes us up at 9 AM on a Sunday to spread his word. We feel that we're being preached to and if wanted that we'd go to church.
P.S. My car is 3 years old - no mods..........YET!!
