Using a TestPipe saves around 9lbs, and it is cheap and adds a little grunt.

How do you figure?

the stock hood is about 15-20 lbs maybe

The real honeycomb CF hoods are like 3-5 lbs.

Do the math

I think according to hardtopguy.com the oem hardtop weighs like 45 lbs, meaning if the motor weighs 50+ you'd still be lighter than stock when the top is back on.

Any idea what the stock airbox weighs? I need to go measure that. What do you think... 5 lbs?

you can more than half the weight of the exhaust system by switching to aftermarket dual. single would lose even more weight. the Amuse titanium singles exhausts are the lightest i think.

Exhaust is the most beneficial since it also adds horsepower and decreases significant weight, especially if you go the single route. The wheels on the s2k aren't heavy compared to most OEM, but if you go all out and save 25-35lbs total, the rotational mass decrease would be signicant.

Just go for lightweight wheels (lower rotating mass...), a lighter flywheel, remove the spare tire and call it a day. Much more than that, and you're getting either costly, or sacrificing things.. ie, ditching a 5lb cd changer? you're losing the functionality of a cd changer for almost zero performance gain. At that point, things are just getting silly.

I am going to take my car to a truck scale when it's done.

Reduce:

Toda Header
T1r Test Pipe
T1r 70r Exhaust (hopefully J's 60RS)
Prodrive GC07
Hardtop w/ Canvas Removal
Spare Tire Removal
JIC Magic Seats

Add:

WLaurent enclosure w/ 8'' Sub
Clifford Alarm w/ Sensors
Stoptech BBK
Comptech Sides
BYS Spoiler
J's 1/2 Front Bumper
Spoon STB

I wonder how much net weight I lost...
