Black tape on windshield frame?

slbutler, these are the largest that I can provide with the camera that I have. The tape was never "optional" as far as I know. It has always been there, except for some Honda promotional pictures. Japan may have been the exception?

It took me an hour. No problems after 10 months and 25,000 miles. Use a hair dryer.

Andrew,

That took some cahones to go after Honda for this. I mean, they don't tell you to remove the tape or anything . Great that they helped you though.

I posted a thread in Wash & Wax on this subject a while back. Documented the peeling w/ pix. No big deal really.

No satisfactory answer as to why the tape is on there in the first place except aesthetics. I used to think it was to cover up the blemishes which lie beneath, but I don't believe that any more.

Your cars look great without the tape. First warm New Jersey Sunday and my tape is going to be history.

dude, do it. I took mine off in May of 2000 when we got the car. never regretted it.
