Guntersmurf,

I'm about to have my stock wheels powdercoated charcoal/black. I just have to find the time and the right vehicle to accoplish my mission.

I tried to color it red using Corel PhotoPaint but I can find no "find and replace" option like on Coreldraw9.
I had to use the paintbrush and wound up with an S2K that looked like it was colored by a palsied 3 year old with a social disorder.

Sorry chief, no pix of red S2K with black wheels, but here's my red M3 before and after I powdercoated my wheels anthracite.

I don't think it looks like anyone just stole my wheels. I'm thinking of getting black wheels for my black S2K. So will that make it look like somebody just stole my whole car? If you wanna talk ugly wheels, let's talk chrome!

Remember: opinions are like a-holes, everybody has one, and they all stink!

I realize beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but does anyone else think this is downright wrong?

No need for flames, thank you. I never considered it until I saw a red 911 with darkend rims and found it quite stunning.

Guntersmurf,

Don't worry...I'm on the brink of powdercoating my stock wheels...just have to borrow a truck or something.

Utah S2K,

Having smoke or black wheels on a Japanese sports cars was a trend that probably started in Japan...it's pretty big over there.
