Yank the steering wheel, seperate the column covers and the panel is held on by clips. Or you lower the steering column by pulling all the bolts from the hangers (I think 4 bolts) and remove the dash trim panel. After you have the dash trim removed, the audio switch unscrews from the back. If you remove the wheel, disconect the battery, wait 5 minutes, then unplug the airbag. This is easier on my car because the Vortech timing controller is under the column.

I didnt want anyone to see that I had a boost gauge either so I got the A pillar pod still but put the same gauges that Rick uses in them. They are digital so they shut off when the power is off.

Slows2k,
How come your pillar pod has vents in it? mine didnt have them and actually the predrilled hole didnt line up perfect neither.

Mine didn't have the defroster vent, I put it there. My gauge pod is not mounted on top of the original. I sectioned the original clip locations and the defrost vent, then epoxied them to the gauge pod. I opened up the defrost vent as well. To remove the pod in my car you just unsnap the clips, just like the original.
