Boot Cover TSB-- Homemake FIX
Okay..for those of you in the southern states-- (eg. not a lotta rain) using the boot and pissed it pops off (as mind did with the 2000 and 2001 model boot)::
You CAN "Zip-Tie" (aka. Tie-Wrap) the top while folded down across the passanger and driver sides (I'm talking about the top folding pieces-- rubber, not the boot) while compressing it by hand.
This causes the roof to STAY down, period. The downside, of course is that you need to manually CUT the tie-wraps if you want to put to roof up. (I'm hoping after a few months it'll conform to this position).
On the other hand, the boot WILLLLL stay on at 130+... (don't ask me how I know).

p.s. P.M. me if you don't understand what I'm talking about and I'll try to describe it better... but basically compress it by hand and find a place to tie-wrap it to keep that position... then put your boot on and enjoy the sun!

Damn.... thats a good idea. I hadn't thought of that..but 1 velcro strap on each side would do the trick. I've go something to do this week now!! Thanks for the killer suggestion!

If this fixes your problem, why not have TSB 01-038 performed? I didn't trust the dealership, so I did it myself. End of problem, and I don't have to worry about putting tie-wraps on and cutting them.
