So in a climate with hot weather you are saying the K&N would have little/no gain, but the AEM V2 would? Is the filter on both washable for reuse?

Thank you.

Neither one.!!
Low restriction air filter (good one, like J.R.!!) and a cold air intake snorkel(like Muz or Spoon.),or a good rad. cooling plate, like AUT,or Garage Defend.

How much is the Muz or Spoon snorkel? I thought it was almost $300 at Muz's website.

Air filter like K&N drop in? How much for the JR?

The AEM V2 can be bought for around $250 or so on the internet shipped. Only thing is that the installation is more involved than a short ram type.

What needs to be done for the type of config you recommend? Any HP gains?

Maybe 2-3 H.P.
And forget the manufacturers(K&N) claiming 8 to 10 H.P.;on a S2000,this is Bulls&#@.!!!
+ with this set-up,you have a slight ram air effect at speed.
Positive press.measurable in a few inches of water.!(not mercury!!)

The stock intake is already pretty high-flow. Just replace the filter with a high-flow one, and get a radiator cooling plate and you should be set.

CAI's on this car get MINIMAL gains. The 5-10hp gains quoted above are suspect. I would look more to 3-5 tops. Maybe 7-10 with a full exhaust and header.

I got he INJEN, because I was looking for a more aggressive sound. Its basically the same as he AEM v2, but a bit cheaper. It also does not have as large of an up-angle at the filter (traps water and promotes hydrolock).

I also installed an AEM 3" bypass, just as an extra precaution on the hydrolock issue. They also now have a Gore-Tex type bonnet that goes over the filters and supposedly eliminates hydrolock risk (short of submerging the filter). Dont know what it does to airflow, though, they claim it does not affect it, but I would like to see an independent study on it, though.
