Now--to make it uber-realistic, you need to simulate the "yellowing & cracking" of the plastic rear window.

Sweet! Let us know when you build your Tamiya S2K too!

I don't know if I will run mines yet but if I do, it will be a cheap and old Futaba Magnum Sport radio. I use my Hitec Lynx 3D and multiple receivers for my higher end nitro RC's.
will do.

its going to take me a while to paint the body. i dont want to just paint it. i'm planning to separate every panel either using a sharpy or masking everything off and spraying it.

this is the way i want my body to look. i will be painting it laguna blue.

dan,

is this a good reciever?

Nice, What type of paint did you use on the rag top? I built one of these on New Years EVE (wife was having pregnancy sickness) I need to build another shell though. The one I have has gotten ran into walls so many times, it has scratches all over ! Luckily, I know of a place that has a lot of S2000 shells in stock

Its ok, if you have patients...wait for a great deal I got my Futaba 2 ch (beginner kit) with 2 servos, and receiver. Brand new on eBay for $25.00 The guy did an impulse buy, and decided its not his sport. His loss, my gain

Unless you are planning on doing some serious racing, the Futaba is all you need. I use it about once every 6 months, then it spends the rest of its time getting looked at and getting complimented

SS2000GT, I used the same can of paint I used to paint the inside of the body. Just sprayed it on the outside thats all.

Steve2 - Have to agree with SS2000GT and save money and get something cheaper. The radio you linked is not bad but there are certainly better radios out there for the money. Plus the radio you linked is on 27mhz band. You want to get a 75mhz so someone is less likely on your channel. You can check out www.towerhobbies.com for some good Airtronics or Futaba radios in a variety of price ranges. If you're just messing around in a parking lot, a $45 Futaba radio set with receiver and servos will do. You can get them on eBay even cheaper too.
