My family lived in Bayside for many years around Bell and Northern. I still have a sister there and a brother in Long Island.

Ron Jeremy

I purchased the car from a independent dealer not the Honda dealer.

yes you can. my car fell under the certified program (7yrs/100k drivetrain warranty), but i forced the dealer to roll the 7yr / 100k mile - $0 deductible Honda Care warranty into the deal... they adjusted my car's price down and added the warranty price as a separate item. i believe it showed up as a $1095 price on their paperwork. he claimed that was his cost... i didn't care b/c i was rolling it into the deal and was getting the car for the price we negotiated w/o the warranty...

and yes, as i understand you can purchase it separately before the factory warranty expires.

PKJ3 -- Here is another example of the main reason I will never take my car into a dealer for any TSB:

Read some of the experiences of people further down that thread.

yikes man!

fell off the lift?! lost a part and reassembled it 6 times?!

now i don't feel so bad for making a couple surprise visits during the day while they were working on it... i did make a point to meet my mechanic and his supervisor to discuss the job w/ them in detail before they started work... sheesh, they had mine done in less than 8 hours...

Ron - speaking of which, did you get it back yet? how's the noise and new clutch?

I just picked my car up and all is wonderful. The dealer said the flywheel had burn spots so they replaced the clutch, pressure plate and the flywheel.

They also said there was a recall on the plugs and replaced them.

All in all I am a pretty pleased customer. Honda service did not let me down.

I do need to say the stereo system is pretty sad. Recommendations?????

glad to hear everything went well and that you got good service.

for the stereo - pop into the electronics forum... you'll find lots of suggestions there...

Ron

When all is said and done, its a Honda, and thats something to be very happy about. Its a great car with a great heritage. I too have read about dealer service abuse, but I have only good things to say about my experiences with the dealer/service, and this is my 8th Honda product.

By the way, congrats on your purchase and welcome to our community. Enjoy.

If you want to cheaply upgrade the sound install Lucid rear speakers. I have the 3 way kenwoods and they make a world of difference.
