No, I'm just.... quite surprised that KBB had the capacity for due-diligence for a request like this and in a fairly short amount of time...
I was shocked as well. Along with the link to this thread I gave them a piece of my mind on the issue.

Perhaps they just realized I was right and needed to make the change immediately? There was obviously something really wrong for months now as it made absolutely zero sense for their figures to be $4k+ higher than the competition. I'm just overjoyed that they were reasonable about the whole thing. I too never expected a response that quickly.

I may just have to raise my level of respect for KBB now. Something I considered blasphemous until about two hours ago.
Especially considering they are in the enigma that is CA! You might wait until friday before you get too excited. You should run a few different scenarios and save them and then run them again friday and see what you can figure out. Also, make a separate thread about it for TeslaChicken's sake.

You didn't have to endure them before this either.

Let me add a #4: national AutoTrader search. I'd add "national Craigslist search" but the Google-fu required to do this well eliminates most people.

Too many people fail to realize that being picky hurts you in any regionally-defined market for a low-volume car, and that the way to fix this is to greatly expand your search area. There is so much more used car migration going on between dealers than anybody has any idea of, because each region/market prices different types of cars differently.

Case in point: if you live anywhere where snow doesn't fall regularly, buy every Toyota 4x4 you can, put it on a truck and bring it to Denver. You will make money, I guarantee it.

For what these cars cost -- up to $25K for a good sub-30K miles example -- an extra $350-400 to fly to get the car is nothing.

You're not buying a big-3 pickup or a Toyota Camry, people. Do you think that the Lamborghini/Ferrari crowd sits in Kansas City wondering why there aren't any for sale locally that they want to buy? Of course not, they travel.

He started that listing at $26k. If that isn't laughable I don't know what is.

You have completely missed my point.

Oh the pain and suffering you are enduring! Oh the sheer awfulness of it all! I can't imagine how you have the fortitude. My condolences for all the first world pain and suffering you agonized through. It's just so unfair and not right. We should form a protest. Yes, that's what we shall do! The president should know of this! Oh the humanity! The world must know and righteous people everywhere should stand up and scream, "honda606 should not be made to endure idiots asking $26k for their 2005 ten year old S2000." And all shall hear us and agree.

If S2K prices really plunge by $4K across the nation because of your single email to KKB, then I owe you an apology.

(Yes, I am biting hook line and sinker for this troll)

It's not good news for me? I don't have any issue with the prices?

What you don't realize is that KBB was going to lower prices anyway because of the normal seasonal fluctuation and the fact that used car prices are finally falling from their post recession peaks. They sure did make his day though!

Also I predict drops more like $400...then again, KBB prices are all over the place for low volume cars anyway.
