So I have been debating selling my mint 2001 Electron Blue Pearl Honda Prelude to get an S2000. When I bought my Prelude with 10K miles in 02 for $19,900 there was no way I could afford the $26,000 prices of equal year S2000's although it was the car I've wanted since 1999. Back then my insurance would have been much higher an an S2k as well but now, I'm 25 and insurance on an 02 S is looking about the same as on an 01 Prelude.

I'm determined to find an 02, I'm seeing a lot of deals this time of year but maybe that's because it's winter. I'm afraid that if I wait to sell the PRelude it will be spring and S2K's prices will rise and they will be harder to find. Thoughts?

I owe $12K on the PRelude, I know I can sell it myself for $15K, it has only 45K miles and is absolutely mint and stock with OEM spoiler, 3M tint, amber LED signals and side markers.

I'm hoping to find a good 2002 S2K for $19,000...I'll put about $3-4K down and capital one will give me 5.29% on a 60 mo loan.

Based on this information what would you guys recommend to me or say that may help me out?

I could potentially buy an S2K before I sell the Prelude but I don't want stuck with 2 car payments for long. If it takes me a month to sell the Prelude will finding an '02 S2K in April for $19K be tough? I live in the Washington DC area and there are a good number of used ones for sale I guess.
