C`s Shifters?
I put one on my last car a couple of months before I sold it and it wasn't all that I expected. It did shorten the throws a bit but was much harder to shift. The height stayed stock, which I didn't like, and they shortened the throw by doubling the size of the portion on the shifter below the ball. This made it really hard to shift and it was actually lower than the cables could easily reach so they were always on a bind. This made it hard to shift into any of the forward gears (1,3,5). Although I haven't used/owned one for an S2000, I would not buy another shifter product from them after my experience in my MR2. I actually don't see how you could gain much over the stock shifter in the S. It already has shorter throws than anything I've driven and is smooth as butter when shifting, I wouldn't want to risk losing either by changing it.
DAMN and the MR2 is one of the most popular ones here in Japan. It takes about 500KM to break in, but maybe you did something wrong. Adjustment of the cables is needed and it says it in the instructions, did you do that? I owned a MR2 and I put one in too, and I loved it in that car, thats why I have one in my car now.
OF COURSE you must realize rear engine/tranny, is different then a front one.

The C's shifter is specifically made for RHD vehicles. The shifter is leaned toward that side. It can be used, but it takes getting used to. When you are in 1st it'll look like 3rd, etc. The S2000 shifter is fine the way it is IMO.
