C6... why?

The 25.2 m/s is NOT the peak piston speed of an F1 engine.
High revving sport bike engines, as well as F1 engines, have very short strokes as well. Those engines work great for bikes, but are hardly suitable for regular cars for various reasons: high and rough idle, peaky power delivery, low torque, bad efficiency, etc.
While not in production, NSX uses titanium connecting rods as well. If S2000 needed them, Honda could put them there (despite the price increase). Honda has the technology and know how at their disposal. They use it if they see fit. After all, engineering is design under constraint.
I think I made myself clear as possible. Whatever you take from it (or not) is your problem. Not much else I can contribute at this point.
Based on your last post, you're out of anything meaningful to write as well.

I have 130,000 miles in S2000s and am extremely tempted by Vettes, even though I've never driven one. Here's how I see the C6's advantages over the S:
All trim levels--
5yr/100,000mi powertrain warranty.
No timing chain to eventually break.
V8, especially with the sport exhaust, sounds way better than a four-banger.
Interior is a bit more spread-out.
Cupholders on the OTHER side of the shifter, not behind it.
You can do something with a C6 that you can never do again with an S: buy a new one.
C6 base coupe ("KOO-pay" per Top Gear) and convertible--
More storage space (vert).
Waaaay more storage space (hatch).
You can take the targa top with you. MAJOR selling point over my CR.
The same or better mileage, and you can run 87 instead of 93 all the time.
1.8x the hp, 2.5x the tq, less than 1.15x the weight.
Most likely a better sound system.
Z06--
2x the hp, 3x the tq, less than 1.10x the weight.
Dry sump; makes for better-lubricated trackdays.
Beats the dogcrap out of any similarly-priced sports car.
ZR1--
2.6x the hp, 3.7x the tq, less than 1.2x the weight.
By all accounts, a mild-mannered daily driver, even more so than the other C6s.
Beats the dogcrap out of almost any other sports car ever made, and the rest will cost you 3-4x the price or more.
Speaking of which, thanks to overestimating demand, Chevy has ZR1s coming out of their ears, and I've talked with two dealers who would have gladly taken my S and let me drive away in a ZR1 the same day. Slightly higher payment, darn it. Cash buyers can expect 10k or more off sticker.
I wouldn't knock any Vette of any sort unless I've tried it. And I might.

Agreed. You can't deny the performance of the Vette even though many people don't care for domestics. At some point in my life I could see myself test driving one, but I don't think I would buy one. They are respectable cars and I would take it if someone gave me one, but there are other cars that I would prefer to buy over a Corvette.
All your credibility went out the window when you suggested overhead cams were new technology compared to push rods, so whatever you "get" is probably wrong.
