I wonder if anyone has an answer for me.

Of course in NY you need to have a front Plate. If you install a CAI (which I haven't yet) can you mount a plate in the center air duct? or will it block too much air flow?


I hate my front plate.....

It won't block the air duct, but it'll block flow to the radiator which is what you should be more worried about...
