I am going to leave this person's Identity anonymous. But I talked to an S owner the other day and his was a MY03. My first performance question after the usual questions was did u break it in properly??? The guy remarked "yeah" in a manner suggesting he drove the hell out of it b/c he said it with a laugh. I then asked if they had had any street encounters and he replied yes and stated that he had destroyed anythig he had raced. I asked what RPM he launched from and he sated 4k. I siad do u know tht if u launch from 6500 plus u will get a better start. He said no the tires will spin. I said performance 0-60 and 1/4 mile times prove that a 6500 to 7000 launch yields better times. He said oh I said this is because vtec starts at 6k so u want to launch somewhere inside vtec. He proceeded to state that DOHC dosen't even kick in till 6500. I just said yeah and walked away. Iwish someone would take this S away and give it to me. I think I am more deserving but who knows!

 

 

I spin my tires as well when I try launching over 6000 rpm. Doing it at 4500 rpm seem to work well on the street but launching between 6000-7000rpm on the dragstrip might work better since the pavement has more grip. I don't drag race so I wouldn't know.

at first when i read the thread title, i'm was a little annoyed that you would say something like that. Then after reading the post i agree with you, take his S away.

 

That's strange. I thought my DOHC(Dual OverHead Cams) kicked in as soon as my engine started. I was under the impression that my engine would not even run without them

 

There are all types of people out there. I think you should start taking guns away from dumbasses that don't know how to use them before we start taking their cars away. At least this way, they pay more money out of their pocket when they kill someone.
