When you compress insulation it loses most of the insulating properties so his bubble wrap probably would have more insulating powers and is easier.

Can you explain how you fab. picture # 2, where to buy, and cost.

I take that's a Drop in K&N right?

THanks for the help!

BC
I bought mine from Home depot about $7 a sheet.

Here's the tools I used:

1. Pencil
2. 2"x4"
3. Measuring tape
4. Aluminum cutters

Here's how:

1. Width-- 9 1/2"
2. Length--16"
Use a straight edge (I just used the 2"x4") and draw your lines.
Cut out your rectangle.

Measure 2" on each side. (you should have 2" -- 5 1/2" -- 2" for your width) Draw your lines.

Measure 3/4" off the bottom. Draw your line.

Measure 4" from that line. Draw your line.

Cut slits in the last two lines, all the way to your first lines. (should be four 2" slits)

From the bottom up, cut up to the first slits. (cut those pieces out)

Get your 2"x4", place it on the bottom line of the width and bend up. Go to the next line and repeat.

Place it on your two lines of the length and bend those up.

Now test it out, the bend should just about sit on the horizontal tube in front of radiator. The right side should sit snug with the tube where it runs vertical.

The second should bend under the bottom of the second grill hole. (for mounting purposes.

Notes:

I tie strapped some foam in between the scoop and the tube it rests on.

I used existing holes in the frame to mount the top.

You will have to trims some things to make it fit perfectly.

It's been tested up to 122 mph with no problems.

NA 088:

You asked the question of how this CAI mod sounds. I know that many owners want a CAI not for power so much as sound. IMO, this would not be the one for them, as I think it is actually a bit quieter than stock. This is because the intake point has been moved out of the engine bay and forward of it, with a secondary "slow speed" intake point in the pax fenderwell. Thus, the intake points have become more isolated from the driver than stock.

Thanks,
Richard

Pretty crude to hijack somebody's thread to do a sales pitch for your own intake for sale. NO SPAMMING!

ps. "Guests" are not allowed to sell here. My crystal ball foresees your post being dumped soon.

xviper:

Before taking any action on S2X's post, you should know that it is the AUT rad cover/CAI that S2X is selling that I used for my mods. For what it is worth, I don't consider that S2X hijacked my thread for commercial purposes, but merely answered another poster's question of where he could get one of those mods that I praise so highly.

Thanks,
Richard
