NOTHING screams like a long tube aluminum intake... check this out, sounds identical to my AEM v1 that I bought for $130 brand new, totally worth it. (injen intake in this vid)

Agreed. Fujita/AEM V1 are mean sounding.

I started off with the airbox lid off and it sounded... ok (getto ok)
Then I heard a comptech, not bad, louder then stock.
Then I purchased a Fujita and it's the loudest/best sounding.
Then I heard the PRM and that is now the loudest but not by much.

I am very happy with the K&N FIPK. I did not want to fool around with any water getting into the engine with AEM cai. I did have an aem setup on my civic Si back in the day and I never had a problem with water, even in the winter. I did however HATE the loss of throttle response and low end power. I am not sure if this would be better in the s2k however I am not switching from k&N now!

To each unto his own, IMHO, they all sound nice. Cover off, you do notice a slight loss in power though.

This is yet another totally subjective question. Listen to some and form your own opinion.

Would I buy my Fujita knowing what I know about it? Absolutely yes. YMMV.

Lid off is loud ... and sounds REALLY loud with top down on a track.

Never had CAI on the S2K though, so it's hard to compare ...

Lid off on the track isn't a huge issue anyway, since you have enough air flowing through that you won't have heat soak problem

If you just want loud, then taking off the lid on the airbox should do it.

If you want loud AND a nice, deep tone, then get a CAI. It's worth it imo...very cheap, and makes your car sound so much meaner

I've been wanting a CAI for a while now, but the thought of cutting my fender wall to make it fit really turn me away from it. Now I heard of people actually removing the air box lid to get the car to sound louder and gain like 3 hp.

CAI all the way. I've had stock, airbox cover off, and now AEM V2. when lining up with a buddies s2k (V2) he had a definite power advantage before I had my intake. Now we are identical and the car sounds louder and just better
