I've been wanting a CAI for a while now, but the thought of cutting my fender wall to make it fit really turn me away from it. Now I heard of people actually removing the air box lid to get the car to sound louder and gain like 3 hp.
You only cut a small half circle out of it. The plastics are about $50 to replace if you go back, but it's not noticeable really.

It's incredibly simple. I just used a knife to cut the plastic. After it's done, you won't even notice it.

You'd have a really hard time spotting the cut unless you were under the car.

I'm an induciton noise junkey to start with, so I'm hardly unbiased, but IMO a CAI is one of the sweetest inexpensive mods you can make to the S2000. I love the sound. Wish I hadn't had to give it up for the boost.
