Agreed with the above. You can push as hard as you want...it only cuts in when you lose grip.
Socal's been having a lot of rain, and my rear tires admittedly are very bald (i have newer tires sitting at home, but want to wear these down more). It's kicked in a few times there too (mostly going straight when I hit a patch of water on the freeway).
Overall, it's been more of a plus than a negative. Besides, having the ability to turn it off with a button press makes it a non-issue...i have my fun when I want to, otherwise it stays on.

This, we did charity laps @ VIR and I pushed the car to the point of getting the tires to squeal...never engaged the VSA.

The only time it kicks in for me is when I get crazy in a corner. Many times I'll go barreling into a corner far too aggressively, knowing VSA will bail me out. Not the "proper" thing to do, but it's fun. During normal normal corners, and during most any kind of acceleration, I never feel it. The car just doesn't have enough power or torque for the VSA to be intrusive during sane street driving.

Seems like a great tool to learn the car's potential, ideally on the track.
Would most of you never buy another S2k without it? Just for peace of mind?

VSA was doing a pretty good job of pissing me off the other weekend...
I was down at Charlotte Motor Speedway for a 2 day DE, with the oval track being used in combination with an infield section. EVERY, SINGLE, LAP when I transitioned from the apron to the banked turn (24° banking) the VSA would freak out right before the left front tire hit the banking. Keep in mind I transitioned very very carefully and had both right side tires hit the banking at almost the same time. Nonetheless, the VSA would freak out, grab the left front brake as well as restrict power for 2-3 seconds every lap. There were 4-5 times when it did not kick in, though I'm not sure what I did differently here. As this was as point of full open throttle for over 1/2 mile till the other banked turns its fair to say this was slowing me down.
I considered turning VSA off but there were way too many concrete walls and limited run off at that facility for me to chance it. So instead I just dealt with it and tried to "beat it" every lap.

VSA doesnt kick in unless driving becomes aggressive. I found I could not WOT through the gears with it on, but its not something I do often anyways. I cannot drive on the track with it on AT ALL though, it definitely stops me there. I love VSA though, when it rains I keep it on. All the older s2ks have to be extra careful, I have VSA .

VSA is not good enough for the on the limits driving.
it's probably not designed for that.
it is what it is.
on the road - even on very fast spirited and canyon runs - i rarely see it flashing.
but at Auto-X if i forget to turn it OFF - i see and feel it immidiately - it cuts me at start and every turn.
