I think at my next event, I'm going to set my camera to widescreen mode to see what it looks like (since I'll be getting a widescreen TV soon).
Most cameras have 4:3 CCDs so setting it to 'widescreen' is actually 'shortscreen'. You just loose top and bottom pixels.

I use an old Sony DSC PC7 with a wide angle lens on a home made mount and a mike on the radio door. Sound and picture is excellent.

The cameras are Sony DCR-PC1 DV Camcorders. The mounts are universal and will fit almost any camera/camcorder.

I also use various lenses, depending on what I'm shooting. I have 3 of the mini camcorders. Usually I have them set up for a full forward view, a close-up of the tach and speedo, and one on the bumper facing forward or rearward. I also have 2 lipstick cameras. One is a pedalcam, and sometimes I put the other on a helmet or hat to record my perspective.

I try to get good footage at track or canyon runs. The best part of the process is editing all the video. I like to synchronize the tach/speedo or pedal cam into the forward view using picture-in-picture (like the Best Motoring videos).

I also have a full size cam and various tripods for trackside/roadside shots and I have a spare S2000 camera mount so I can set up another car to shoot my car.

Hopefully, when I get out of school next year, I'll be able to make some great S2000 videos.

Good luck making your S2000 video. I hope I get to see it!
