Default Can you get 300 bhp with no boost?

Just purchased an s2k and haven't even driven it yet. However, I'm already looking into upgrading. I'd like to bump the standard 240 to around 300 but I really don't want to make the car less reliable. It will pretty much be my daily driver and I need it to last like a honda. Just want it to be more fun. The car currently has:

Single exit exhaust (not sure what make)
Some "custom" carbon fiber intake (snorkel to the lower scoop but still uses the stock box)
Volk 17" TE37s
Headers (brand unknown)

Haven't seen the car in person yet. It's being shipped and it is US spec.

I guess the obvious mods would be increase fuel flow, cams, ignition.

Any help would be appreciated.

Oh yeah, is the standard ECU mappable? Will I need a new one such as a PowerFC

The simple answer is no. Nobody has done it yet and I doubt anyone will.

like everyone said, to get it to 300@flywheel, its going to cost more than a forced induction setup. you can make a FI setup reliable, in the form of AEM EMS. good luck.

I still can't figure out why so many people are against proven, reliable and inexpensive ways of increasing horsepower.

You should have no trouble getting to 300 hp, normally aspirated. Just swap in a Honda C32B.

Like I said before. It can't be done on 93 octane pumped gas. Throw as much money into it as you want and you won't get there.

I bet if you went with toda cams, titanium valve springs, toda individual throttle bodies, headers, exhaust w/out cats, ported heads, platinum spark plugs, and a remapped ecu that takes all the new components into account plus you would be close to 300hp @ the flywheel. Its gonna cost you lots of $$$ though.
