I never made that choice, the 350Z I wanted was way too much (had to be the convertible trim), but the convertible 350Z looks awesome.

I chose the S2000 because it's a better car. The 350Z is a heavier, and it weighs more too. It's not light either.

my friend has a Z and it's not that fast. I kill him around the turns. One win for the Z is that aftermarket mods for his car were cheaper than for the S2k.

I was actually debating whether or not to get the 350z instead of the s2000. After driving both cars, I felt the 350z was not as smooth as the s2000. Also, I wanted a reliable car, and Honda is known for building incredibly reliable and well-engineered engines.

Funny you mention this; I was in the same predicament as you. I actually put my S2000 for sale about a month ago to get a Z coupe (touring model). Funny thing is, the first guy that contacted me works for American Honda. According to him, the Z doesn't feel as solid as the S2000 as it ages. In his words, "That's what happens when you put an accountant in charge of your cars." Then I had another guy contact me and he wanted to trade his Z for my S2000. The more I sat on it, Z seemed less appealing. I know that Z is a powerful car. It has much more torque, more mod options, and more practical than S2000. But I want a car that will last me. I haven't had any problems with my car, while one of my friends with Z broke down on the freeway twice with less than 6000 miles on it. Also, I sort of like the challenge of having less options for my car. It's like a treasure hunt to find exactly what you want.

I have had a 2003 350Z and I currently drive a 2005 S2000. There are pros and cons for both. The 350Z had more bottom end but the S correspondly has VTEC point that still puts a smile on my face. Both radios suck. The navigation in the Z was great. That was one thing that I do miss. The S handles 10 times better than the Z. The S shifts smoother. The Z has more room. There are many things I liked about both cars. If any one or several questions you have in mind feel free to ask me. You are the one making the payments so you need to be the one that is happy and has a smile. Both are excellent choices.
