cant decide
I test drove both. The Z felt like it had more punch (torque) until Vtec in the S, but also felt very heavy. It is not as nimble as the S. There is much more feedback in the S. Plus I love roadsters, and the Z vert is way too heavy.
I think the S will have a longer lasting look, if not become a classic. The Z's looks will "blend in" after awhile. Just look at the 300Z. I used to love those, now they dont look so hot.
I am very happy with my choice.

I test drove both before purchasing the S. There are various reasons I went with the Honda product, but the clincher was the wifey telling me I had a bigger grin on my face after my S test drive than the Z test drive. Funny thing is, I didn't even hit VTEC during my test drive, but I definitely tested the torque of the Z car. Bottom line, both are nice cars destined to become classics...well, one maybe a bit more classic than the other.

thats that
You'll drive whatever car you eventually get for long enough that it is worth you're time to go slowly now and make the choice that is best for YOU. It makes little difference what other people think, you're getting the car for you not them.
One of my biggest concerns about the 350Z was the reports of front suspension alignment problems and associated feathered tire wear. There is a Class Action Lawsuit against Nissan by Z owners regarding this problem. I'm hoping they have the problem corrected by now. Check the 350Z forums and decide for yourself.

yeah also like you know how the s2000 is light so like when u drive like around 80 on freeway r u able to drive with one hand like does it feel smooth comtherble and safe, like ive driven a miata and holy moly that car scary on freeway, i havent got to test drive s2k cuz the dealer was out of them and their waiting for 06 shipment also i dont mind the heavy feel cuz i drive a 1994 e320
Here's the deal. the 350Z is engineered from a sedan platform, the G 35. You can see this by the high front cowel line. Its styling is very much influenced by the fact that it is sedan-derived. To me, it rides rougher than an s2k (which ain't no Mercedes itself!). Also (to me) the 350Z convertible is outright ugly, as a poor adaptation of a coupe to a convertible. IMO, the best car built on the 350Z's platform and sold in the US is the G 35 sports sedan -- and it is one great car! But now we are in four door sedan territory. If you want one of these, the G 35 is a "must see!" If you want a "designed from the ground up" roadster, the s2k is IMO without equal for the price.
But in the end, you must drive them both (hopefully for long test drives) and decide for yourself.
Thanks,
Richard
