Well, that may be a little too strong. How about "buy an s2k or else you will wake up in the morming and find youv'e been sleeping with an ugly person?"

Thanks,
Richard

Read this, the S2000 came in 5th ahead of the 350Z that came in 8th.

Of course, there is no Z2000. But I've found inexpensive ways to add more bottom end to my s2k, but don't know of any inexpensive way to make the 350Z convertible less ugly or less harsh riding.

Thanks,
Richard

Well, you will get a bunch of different opinions on that question! IMO, I would try to find a good '02 AP1 (even though I have an '01). If the small rear glass window doesn't bother you (as it does short folks like me) it may be (IMO) the best s2k built. You don't have the bother of the plastic rear window, but yet you have the 9K red line, and the ability to bolster up the low end to your satisfaction (PM me on this). Tires are problematic on on AP1 (or AP2 or IMO), so you can PM me on this too if you like. IMO, the switch to lower profile tires on 17" wheels was accompanied by a softer suspension to accomodate this, with a negative result.

But remember, if you liked the 350Z, it's best "incarnation" is the Infiniti G 35 sport. An awsome car. with all the perofromance of any of the cars discussed here, but in a four door, five passenger foremat. Unless you absolutely HAVE to own a roadster, don't dismiss it.

Thanks,
Richard

If you want to ride top down go with the s2000 or MX-5. If you want a hard top look at the RX-8 and 350Z. I know the Z has a conv but IMO it is overpriced. For me there was a long over the s2000 and the RX-8. But...in the end buy what fits your budget and your lifestyle.

I had the exact the same issue as you do when I was deciding between a 350Z vs. S2000 three month ago. I bought S2000 and enjoyed every moment of driving it.

couple factors that I chose S over Z:

1. Overall, S2000 has a better build quality. The cheapest 'exotic' money can buy.

2. Too many Zs on road these days. S2000 turn heads a lot more often.

3. Part of Z look urgly, S2000 is a very classic and sexy looking car.

4. S2000 is the true sports car:
a. manual only
b. better performance
c. Sigificantly more mileage per gallon compared to Z (very important factor for a daily car)
d. Fast power top
