The thing that you also have to remember is that they are not going to buy you new seats. Your car is pretty much 4 years old. So they are going to give you an estimate with depreciation. I know it sucks but that's how they do it.

Also you would have to think, if the car would have been locked would they have broken into it?

Another thing to remember is, car alarms keep honest theives out. Professional theives know how to get around alarms.

But I am truly sorry to hear about your car getting broken into.

That's not how State Farm did it when my car was stolen. They paid to fix EVERYTHING - $500 deductible. Since I had bought a bunch of audio equipment @ cost, I made money off the theft...

Also, the other S2000 that was vandalized last night was bought at the same dealership where I bought mine....Kuhn Honda

It's kinda fishy when you think about it. Nobody followed me home last night or any other night. But they knew exactly where my car was and where the other car was and they hit us both around the same time frame last night.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it or something.

Hmmm....thats interesting. Something smells here. Another reason for me to get a hardtop. How about having the cops dust the door handle. If it was unlocked maybe they left some prints.

Also, the insurance guy told me that everything will be covered. Just pay the deductible and they'll take care of the rest.

Man that sucks,

I can't even imagine having a car labeled as being totaled by an insurance company because the seats where stolen. At the same time I can't imagine why these seats cost $8K. I mean they are nice but not that nice.

Hopefully everything will work out in your favor

Although I would consider getting some aftermarket seats and put the rest into mods...

I think it's worth looking into for sure. As for reading too much into it - nah! It might be just a coinsidence but I doubt it.
