clutch?

That's what I thought first, too. If the revs are rising and you're not going anywhere faster that sounds like your clutch is shot.

Are you the first owner? Was the previous owner maybe someone younger who learned to drive manual for the first time with the car?

I bought my car used and noticed the same thing, sometimes just driving around under 6000 rpms it feels kind of slow, and it feels way faster above 6000 rpms...

I think this is common with 00-03 s2000s.

Nice thanks you guys. I unfortunately never met the previous owner so i cant vouch. Whats the easiest way to check for a bad clutch? Oil levels are good, filter clean (comptech). will any of these cleaners hurt anything in anyway? thanks so much guys ill have to try um all out

I was actually going to go buy a compression checker but as for the leakdown i have no idea what to do with that. Would you guys recommend me going somewhere to get this done instead of buying the $50 compression checker.

One of my friends tonight just called and said he was going to use the same thing, but some mechanic dude that putting in his engine says its no good? He says something about it just picks up all the crap in the bottom of the gas tank or something. I dont think he really got the whole thing but is this something I should use? is he crazy? Thanks again.

I'm guessing that it's the hot weather. my car sucks when it's hot.
