more than anything im comparing it to how my car was previous days/and my beater 97 v6 camry. I guess I just figured having a CAI would help me much more on the hot days.

Oil levels and everything are all good, changed them less than 1000 miles ago. Havent done valve adjustment and havent used any type of injector cleaner, mainly due to mixed reviews on it, is it something i should do?

Has a lot to do with air temperature, humidity, the way you feel at the moment (our mind has a way of it's own - psychology) etc... Turbo/charged cars are way less influenced with these kinds of factors.
Not true, turbocharged cars are affected by this condition a lot worse than our cars. Intercoolers get heat-soaked, and the car just feels piggish. At least my RX7 Turbo did. I've driven Supras and it's downright scary at night, and rather plain jane on a hot day.

Having said that, our S2000s have a very aggressive timing profile, to push the timing while hot outside would def. induce detonation. To prevent this on warm days, the ECU will retard the timing as neccessary.

The only cars that aren't affected by this nearly as much are bigger (read torquey) displacement cars. It's still there, but it's not as discernable.

Hmm, feels slow as mud? Maybe you should fix your N/A problem

I recommend a valve adjustment though - Last time I had it done the car felt much better!

You can do it youself if you feel comfortable working on your engine. I've tried to read through the how-to's on it but can't follow exactly what they are saying. I would say trust the dealership to do it, but with the horror stories I've heard of people taking there cars to dealerships, you might try to find someone to do it on the side who has done it before.

I wouldn't attempt it then. Just find a reputable shop in your area to do it. Should be 100-150.

I would take the car in and get it checked out. It seems obvious this isn't just a weather issue. Yes, hot weather will slow this car down, but to be struggling up an incline at 70 in vtec, my previous 01 and my current 06 don't do that, even under the hottest temps. There could be a number of things wrong with what you are desribing. If it was the clutch, you should know it. The engine will rev, and you won't go anywhere. In other words, RPMS rise, car doesn't speed up. A bad clutch should be obvious. Since you are having trouble figuring out what's wrong, you had best take it to place that can tell you what's wrong. Good luck!!

okay, well i may do the injector cleaner, and run a compression check for now. It doesnt seem like the clutch is slipping because it doesnt feel like its dragging or anything, yet the clutch may have always been bad and i never knew it . But I'm pretty sure Id realize it. Maybe a dyno in my future as well.
