A wing could create downforce that would compensate for this. You may want to just try the OEM spoiler though.

I'm also very curious about how well the OEM spoiler works (particularly the one that sticks up, not the one that sits on top of the 3rd brake light) -- or is it just for looks?

If I were to do such a thing, in theory, I would do it in the middle of the desert. Not legal, but on backroads there are places that are flat and smooth for tens of miles. Just do a jaunt up an down to check for highway patrol, turn on the radar detecor, and you're set. You see so few cars, and any that you do see, you will have plenty of advance notice because of the visibility.

well i was on my way from austin to dallas around 2 in the morning and i took mine up to 148... didn't feel any lift.... it felt pretty stable... usually when i'm on highway, i'll take it up to 130 atleast one time a day... its fun and relaxing....

On the way to Orlando one very early morning, I decided to do my first high speed run on the turnpike. At 130 mph I hit a big curve that never seemed like much of a curve at regular speeds, but in this curve at 130 the tires were screaming and trying hard to hang on to traction. This got my attention pretty quickly. I was able to regain control by gradually decreasing speed, making sure to not make any drastic moves. After that I would suggest to anyone who doesn't have much experience with high speed driving, especially in the S, to use caution until you have a good idea of what you are doing. I got lucky that time.

I'm willing to bet the one that extends off the trunk is more functional then the one that sticks up. By having that extension off the trunk, you're giving the car alittle extra length, which would help w/ the airflow coming off the trunk. The one sticking up, is mearly for looks. It dosen't sit high enough to make a difference..

I'm not so sure...

I don't think that the high OEM wing is a very effective design. From what I have seen, it has a poor aerodynamic cross section. I think it would add more drag than anything else.

The lip spoiler may actually be better at reducing the lift. It would provide a cleaner separation than could the rear deck alone.

The lip spoiler 00-03 produces about 3-4lbs of downforce according to an old thread I read.

your new tires may not be broken in yet. you need to heat cycle them. also what was the weather like? in cold weather it takes the tires longer to heat up. do you get 4 new tires or just 2?

let your tires breakin and get an alignment.
