The bigger question would be if no changes disqualify the car from even being involved in the test. Just because a car was in the Top 10 last year wouldn't mean that it would happen the this year. But excluding a car from the start causes the whole process to be skewed.

Top 10 or not...I understand. What really gets me is the lack of the S2000 in recent articles in all of the publications. When you do a comparison with the Z4 and the boxter, why not include the S2000? Does it not belong in the same class? And don't give me that crap about German engineering. And then how about all of the summer articles that totally skipped out on it too! After all of the "boxterbasher" articles and such, I figure it at least deserves to be compared. Maybe they just wanted to make the Z4 look better.

I don't care what any of those magazines think.....or anyone that doesn't drive an S on a regular basis for that matter. I've had mine for 18months and I want to drive it more now than I did when I first got it. And the judges think they know the best car by driving it once?

If you look at it from the average drivers point of view, the S2000 doesn't have all the bells and whistles as the boxter. (aka auto air, hard boot, rain sensing wipers, you know extra added junk
The point is to most of us who are racers at heart the S2000 satisfies our hunger but to the average Joe who doesn't give a damn about apexes and closed in gear boxes well the boxter is probably the car for them. If, of coarse they want to shell out the minimum $15k more.

Maybe it is time for Honda to sell two "S" versions. Doubtful it will happen as the plant is probably close to capacity.

Would you want something everyone else has? Otherwise, we'd all own Camrys or Accords. I relish in our own little apex of obscurity. I hope Nissan sells 20,000 350Z's and Boxsters continue to sell 3x to our 1. A happy marriage is a helluva lot easier when every guy on the block isn't after your wife.
