In case you were wondering
I don't know about the stook's top (not possible, I think), but we once lowered the top on a bugeye Sprite at 80 mph. It was during a late night rally and we were going downhill at 80 (Sprite's top speed). The top decided it was time to leave the car and it did just that. The only damage was a couple of snaps ripped out. A little needle and thread and the top was as good as new, which wasn't all that great because the top leaked like a sieve anyway.
Ya I tried the same thing and nada. After I thought to myself jeez its a good thing these engineers think of these things. Otherwise I would be running down the Hwy chasing my top
