Celebrating 100k miles
Congratulations Modifry
Always good to hear from someone who has had great experiences with their S2000 and especially when you drive it an maintain it like it should be.
p.s. How did you do that odometer counter thing in your sig?

Good grief, what are all you guys doing up this late/early?
xviper - diff is still stock, clutch is stock but I occassionally get the impression it slips a little on upshifts if I'm pushing it (track day). I may consider a clutch upgrade but I've heard stories that some of them don't have good street manners. The disk I pulled out at 43k measured within .1mm of specs for a new clutch, so I expect the replacement to last quite a while longer.
ewcollins - I used Safelite, though I will try someone else next time (I do expect to have it long enough to change it again). I think I just happenned to get a crappy shop with crappy installers. It took 2 months for them to get the rear view mirror to stay on. I think I still have some pics on the web here
My advice - call around and get a good price, but let them know up front you won't accept anything but a perfect installation, and that you won't pay them if it's not. Part of my problem was I didn't inspect their work before paying them. (edit - I think it was about $350 plus tax))
Austblue - I've been working on the odo thing for a while knowing this time would come. I started with my cad software and created a reasonable facsimile of the odometer display then brought it into MSPAINT as a gif file. I then edited that one gif to create over a hundred individual files, each one different. Those hundred or so files were then brought into Animation Shop 3 to create the animated file you see.
The MSPAINT editing wasn't as bad as it sounds. Since most of it was very repetitious (same editing just with a different color) I was able to use some keyboard macro software I have to speed up the process. The key to maintaining such a small file (it's only 14k) is to use the same base image in every frame. Evidentally the animation process only needs to record those pixels that change, so if the background is constant the file size doesn't get too big.

Thats really cool by cad software surely you dont mean something like Autocad? Ive seen the one someone had where it ran up the revs, miles and MPH and I really liked it but never thought of how it was done.
Again nice work

Cograts! That's the most miles I remember hearing about on stock tires.
BTW, I was hoping to meet you at Roebling Fri. since I was scheduled to race there Sat. & Sun. but my schedule changed. damn it!

So 33k miles with a supercharger, 32k miles with Nitrous, and you're still on the original engine.
That's very re-assuring! These engines should easily be able to go 200k miles just like any other Honda in stock form, as long as they are taken care of.
