Default Center console door "sticks"

The other day I removed my center console to remove/install my radio door on my '04, now the center console compartment slider door won't open by itself anymore.

It seems to stick or to be off track. I spent several hours trying to fix it. I had the whole console disassembled and got it slide open just fine but every time I screwed the cupholder compartment back on the door mechanism bracket I got the same problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,
Brent

Im confused as to why you removed your console to remove your radio door? Anyways, which door are you referring to? The radio door has a little spring and if its not in the correct slot it wont recoil properly. The centre console compartment door is kinda sticky, mine is like that too and I cant figure it out. I only know that when I do it slowly its fine and if open or close it after waiting for a few seconds its fine.

Usually "center console" refers to the key locked box with the secret compartment on top.

Do you mean the cup holder by the gearshift?

Assuming it works off the car, make sure you properly secure it to the car - there's a center nub you have to make sure is in or the door will not open smoothly - most people snap in the sides fine but forget to firmly push the center down as well.

It seems that when I removed the "cupholder panel" the door track was slightly bent. I gently bent it back on track, works like new again!
