Private sale.
Also how many miles?
I'd say a 35k mile '05 should be able to get 18k.
You have to realize the stealership is gonna buy it for 15k, tinker with it, wash it (or not my paint came with horrible swirls) and sell it for 17-18k since its an '05.
I would put it up for 18k if its low miles and good condition, and let buyers talk you no further than like 17,250.

December got my '04 w/ 36k fair-great condition. for 16k from a stealership + Texas's sales tax.

I've been shopping for an S2K so here's what I've found.

You can find 04-06s for as low as 17K all day with around 20-30K miles on them. They'll go higher to the 19K area if they are extremely low miles, have mods, or a specific color.

it looks like GPW with Black interior will get more $ than Silver with Black for example.

If you want to dump it fast, a dealer would probably give you 14-15k. Private party, you could probably get 17-18k.

Question - I want to sell what is my car worth?
Answer from S2ki - oh its worth X no way would I take under X-$500

Question - I want to buy is X too much?
Answer - NO way that car is only worth X- $4000

I think it is funny that when someone wants to sell they are asking the right price or too little. When someone wants to buy, the seller is asking way too much.

The car is worth what someone will pay for it.

i think you are lucky if the dealership is giving you 15k. i thought they would offer you like 12-13k. sure there are a lot of ads up for 18-19k but do they sell? most likely not. i want a 04-05..and i woudln't pay more than 14k. (although i would expect like 60-70k miles)

It also depends on the buyer.
When I am looking for a car (and I am a teen) I first look at the visible condition of the car for problems.
ex. Curb Rash
Second I come to an agreement with the owner on a price (I knocked 1k off of my s2k by talking the dealership down)
Third I take it to a honda dealership for a quick inspection to see if it has been wrecked into (Carfax is only good to see how many people have owned a car or if it has been in a flood area)
Fourth if it checks out good and the price is right then it is a good car to buy. If not you have to walk away even if you feel an attachment. There is more than one s2000 in the world for you to buy even if they do amaze you and you want one ASAP

The value has dropped tremendously recently. I have seen '05's with under 30k going for like 14k on ebay many times. I would think a dealer would give you around 12k for it. Private party around 15-16k if you find the right person. You can find like '06, '07's for around 18k now. Hell '08 CR's have gone as low as 25k now basically brand new. NOT a sellers market now for cars at all.

Where are you located? I'll give you more than 15k if you're close lol.

Car market is crap right now though. You should see what s2k's go for at auction right now.
