Default Central arm rest storage?

Has anyone checked out what is under the padded arm rest on the center console of the 2002's? Would it be possible to make that a hinged lid to an additional storage area?

Yeah, but pull it up and see for yourself. I think it's held it down by 6-8 clips?

Yeah there actually is a little room under there, but not much. It's quite easy to open up and see for yourself...the console is only held down by a few metal clips. Start at the back and work your way foward prying with your fingers or some other soft implement. If you're still nervous, go to www.ricks2k.com and download the install instructions for his console cover or shift boot.

Makes a good "secret spot" for LoJack, and things that you don't want your wife, kids, or police, to find.

CAREFUL! Don't break any of the clips or you'll be sorry.
