Heres exactly what they read to me after telling me it wasn't covered. I'm typing this off of the Brochure.
Door Dings
Our CertifiedPlus technicians can remove small dings and dents of up to about 4 inches in diameter. Larger dents and collision damage are not covered by this agreement and generally require more conventional body shop methods. Location of covered repairs is limited to vertical external panels only. Hail damage is not covered under the CertifiedPlus agreement. Expert hail repair can be handled by the CertifiedPlus network of technicians at your insurance company's request or by customer pay.
Paint Repair
CertifiedPlus Sprayless Scratch Repair is a process developed by specialized production teams that utilizes patented procedures to cosmetically cover the damaged area to near pre-damaged condition. In most cases, the repair can be performed in less time than an oil change.

It says, "Small dings and dents of up to about 4 inches in diameter." About? Whats about? The dent I have on the side of my car is no bigger than a quater. So whatever, its not bigger than 4 inches by no means. The issue it comes in is that they are saying that the way the paint cracked is what makes it not covered. Its all because it hit in the wrong place. If it had hit an inch to the right, the paint would not have cracked and it would be covered under the CertifiedPlus Warranty.

The guy tells me from Holmes Honda, "Well because of where it hit and how it hit, its not covered." Ok... The warranty states, "Location of covered repairs is limited to vertical external panels only." Which basically means, everything but the hood and trunk. The damage is on the vertical panel. Its right on the edge of the vertical panel. The door was closed when the shopping cart hit my car. The damage occurred on the outside of the vehicle. It just happed to hit right by the gap of the door and the panel that it caused the paint to crack. The warranty is very vague on is descriptions... Either way, I don't care what they say, it hit a vertical panel.

When I first got my S2k, I got talked into the extended warranty (young and dumb ) and got screwed for alot of money that somehow was not covered. So I cancelled and got most of the money back...lesson learned. Just don't hate the car! It would have been the same in any other car.

Warranties never cover collision or comprehensive. Shopping carts hitting carts is an "act of God." I know, because one of my past cars got hit by a Target shopping cart on a windy day. Target would not cover it. I would try your luck with paintless dent removal if possible. Sorry dude.

Colin, I've read all these responses. And if they absolutely won't cover it whatsoever, then I would take the others advice here, and cash out the warranty if possible, and use the money to repair the car.

Not happy to hear this.......

the "about" term should have a definition in the policy. If not then take them to task over about and vague policy.

Dang Colin! I hate that for you! I would hold their feet to the fire about it! We should get all of us that have done business with Holmes to go up there and see what they say You, me, Bobby, Keith etc...

If not, I would do as suggested before and cash out the warrenty and get it fixed. Don't hate the car.

Do you have it (read: fix door dings and etc) in writing?
